Kerala Car Accident: केरळमध्ये १८ वर्षांच्या तरुणाचा थरार! भाड्याच्या इनोव्हाने १२ गाड्यांना उडवले

केरळच्या कोट्टायम जिल्ह्यात एका १८ वर्षांच्या तरुणाने भाड्याची एसयूव्ही बेदरकारपणे चालवत तब्बल आठ किलोमीटरपर्यंत धुमाकूळ घातला. या थरारात त्याने डझनभर गाड्यांना धडक दिली. गाडीचा पुढचा टायर फुटून ठिणग्या उडत असतानाही तो गाडी चालवतच होता. अखेर स्थानिकांनी त्याला अडवून पोलिसांच्या ताब्यात दिले. हा तरुण नशेत असल्याचा संशय आहे.
मंगळवारी संध्याकाळी केरळच्या कोट्टायम जिल्ह्यात एका १८ वर्षांच्या तरुणाने भाड्याची एसयूव्ही भरधाव वेगात चालवून अक्षरशः धुमाकूळ घातला. त्याने तब्बल आठ किलोमीटरपर्यंत गाडी पळवली आणि डझनभर गाड्यांना धडक दिली. गाडीचा पुढचा टायर फुटलेला असतानाही तो थांबला नाही. अखेर स्थानिकांनी पाठलाग करून ही टोयोटा इनोव्हा गाडी अडवली आणि पोलिसांना बोलावले. गोकुळ असे या चालकाचे नाव आहे.
केरळमध्ये अलीकडेच अल्पवयीन आणि तरुण मुलांनी नशेत गाडी चालवून केलेल्या अपघातांच्या घटना वाढल्या आहेत. यावरून लोकांमध्ये आधीच संताप असताना ही नवी घटना समोर आली आहे.
पोलिसांनी पीटीआय या वृत्तसंस्थेला सांगितले की, गोकुळने तिरुवल्ला येथून ही गाडी भाड्याने घेतली होती. त्याने दारू किंवा ड्रग्जचे सेवन केले असावे असा पोलिसांचा संशय आहे, मात्र अद्याप याची पुष्टी झालेली नाही.
पाईप्पाडमधील मुंडुकोट्टा येथे या गाडीने २१ वर्षीय नंदिताच्या स्कूटरला धडक दिली. ती चंगनाचेरीच्या दिशेने जात होती. तिरुवल्ला येथील एका खाजगी रुग्णालयात काम संपवून ती घरी परतत होती.
या अपघातात नंदिताचे हात आणि पाय गंभीर जखमी झाले असून तिला तिरुवल्ला येथील खाजगी रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले आहे. धडक दिल्यानंतरही चालकाने गाडी न थांबवता त्रिकोडीथानममार्गे थेंगानाच्या दिशेने पळवली. अधिकाऱ्यांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, या चालकाने कन्नोट्टू येथे आणखी सहा गाड्यांना धडक दिली.
Panic gripped parts of Kottayam district after a speeding Toyota Innova allegedly rammed into several vehicles while travelling nearly 8 kilometres without stopping.
The incident occurred around 7 pm at Kannotta Junction in Thengana.
Villagers eventually managed to intercept the car after its front right tyre burst, causing sparks as the vehicle continued moving.
Police detained the 18-year-old driver, who is suspected of being under the influence of intoxicants.
According to preliminary information, the Innova started its journey from Vellappally in Payippad and sped through Chanjodi, Madappally, Perumbanachi and Thengana before reaching Kannotta.
During the nearly 8-kilometre stretch, the car allegedly knocked down several vehicles.
Despite the collisions, the driver reportedly continued driving without stopping, triggering panic among motorists and residents.
The situation became more alarming when the car's front right tyre burst. However, the driver continued moving the vehicle, with the wheel disc scraping against the road and producing large sparks.
Several motorists followed the speeding car in an attempt to stop it and prevent further accidents.
The chase eventually ended when local residents managed to block and stop the Innova at Kannotta Junction in Thengana.
Personnel from the Thrikkodithanam police station rushed to the spot and took the driver into custody.
The driver was identified as Gokul Binu (18), a native of Thiruvalla. Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle belongs to a person from Mukkattupadi in Changanassery.
Police suspect that the driver may have consumed intoxicants before getting behind the wheel.
A medical examination and other procedures are underway to establish whether he was under the influence of any intoxicating substance.
Thrikkodithanam police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
Officials said appropriate legal action would be taken based on the findings.

अखेर स्थानिकांनी गाडी अडवली आणि त्रिकोडीथानम पोलिसांना बोलावले. पोलिसांनी घटनास्थळी पोहोचून गोकुळला अटक केली. या भयंकर प्रकारामुळे परिसरात बराच वेळ मोठी वाहतूक कोंडी झाली होती.

केरळमध्ये तरुण चालकांकडून होणाऱ्या बेदरकार ड्रायव्हिंगच्या घटनांमुळे चिंता वाढली आहे. अलीकडेच चेरानल्लूरमध्ये एका अल्पवयीन मुलाने आणि नेदुंबस्सेरीमध्ये एका १९ वर्षांच्या तरुणाने मर्सिडीज-बेंझ आणि मिनी कूपरने असेच अपघात केले होते.
या ताज्या घटनेत, भाड्याची गाडी आठ किलोमीटर चालवून डझनभर गाड्यांना धडक देणाऱ्या आणि टायर फुटूनही गाडी न थांबवणाऱ्या या १८ वर्षांच्या तरुणाला पोलिसांनी बेड्या ठोकल्या आहेत.
